Your tasks
Job Overview We are looking for a motivated and technically competent Network Support Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be stationed at our customer's premises to provide day-to-day network infrastructure support, monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues and coordinate network maintenance activities.
1. Network Support and Administration
- Provide daily technical support and administration of network equipment, including switches, routers and related infrastructure.
- Monitor network equipment and connectivity to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain accurate network equipment inventory, asset records and technical documentation.
- Handle, investigate and resolve network incidents, service requests and approved change requests.
- Escalate complex network issues to the relevant technical teams when necessary.
2. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting
- Monitor network performance and identify potential connectivity or performance issues.
- Provide first-level troubleshooting and resolution of LAN, Wi-Fi and basic network connectivity issues affecting end users.
- Perform initial diagnostics to identify network faults and assist in restoring services.
- Coordinate with internal technical teams and external vendors for issue resolution.
Requirements
This position is suitable for candidates with a good understanding of networking fundamentals who enjoy hands-on technical work and problem-solving.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Nitec/Higher Nitec in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering or a related discipline.
- Preferably 1–3 years of relevant experience in network support, IT infrastructure support or a similar role.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VLAN, DNS and DHCP.
- Basic knowledge of network equipment such as switches, routers and wireless access points.
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools and techniques.
- Basic knowledge of structured network cabling and patching.
- Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently at the customer's premises and collaborate effectively with other technical teams.
- Responsible, proactive and service-oriented, with a willingness to learn.
