Job Description

The candidate will head up the Legal, Regulatory and Compliance Department of APEX .

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Report directly to APEX’s Chief Executive Officer and Board on all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters
• Oversee legal, board secretariat and compliance matters. Maintain the relevant frameworks and policies to support these work
• Oversee the frontline regulatory functions, namely (i) Member Admission and Supervision (including on-site inspections), and (ii) Market Surveillance. Maintain the relevant frameworks, policies and trading / clearing rules to support these functions.
• Communicate with the Monetary Authority of Singapore on all regulatory and compliance matters

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above from reputable educational institutions
• Legal training is preferred but not a must
• Minimum 10 years of work experience in financial industry regulation with good knowledge in the futures industry
• Good knowledge of the Securities and Futures Act
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skill, interpersonal skill, and ability to communicate effectively with senior management, board directors and peers
• Strong integrity and work ethics
• Good command of English and Chinese (spoken and written)
