Part-Time Structural Engineer (PE) – Residential Projects | Remote

Company: ASG Design Group LLC Location: Remote (United States Only) Job Type: Part-Time | 10–20 Hours per Week Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2–4 Hours per Day License Required: Virginia PE (Maryland & DC preferred) About Us ASG Design Group is a growing architectural and structural design company specializing in residential construction projects, including home additions, renovations, ADUs, and new residential construction. We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer (PE) to lead our structural design process, supervise our CAD drafting team, and ensure that all structural drawings meet applicable building codes and engineering standards. Key Responsibilities Manage and provide technical guidance to our team of CAD drafters. Develop structural designs, calculations, and engineering solutions for residential projects. Provide detailed engineering markups and instructions for CAD drafters. Review structural drawings for accuracy, code compliance, and constructability. Review, approve, sign, and seal final structural drawings under your responsible charge. Coordinate with our architectural drafting team to resolve structural design issues. Respond to building department review comments related to structural engineering. Qualifications Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia — Required. Additional PE licensure in Maryland and/or Washington, DC is strongly preferred. Experience designing residential structures, including wood framing, foundations, beams, headers, and load-bearing systems. Strong understanding of applicable residential building codes and structural engineering standards. Experience supervising or directing CAD drafters. Ability to provide clear markups and communicate design requirements remotely. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Schedule & Work Arrangement Fully remote position. Part-time commitment of approximately 2–4 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Consistent, long-term opportunity with the potential for increased responsibilities as the company grows.
