Workday Financials Functional Solution Architect / Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workday Financials Functional Solution Architect / Manager to lead functional solution design and delivery for enterprise finance transformation initiatives.

The role requires strong expertise in Workday Financials , functional solution architecture, finance processes, and cloud-based ERP implementations. The successful candidate will work closely with business, finance, technology, and project stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable functional solutions while providing leadership across project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the functional solution architecture and design for Workday Financials implementations and transformation programmes.
• Conduct workshops with business and finance stakeholders to understand business processes, reporting requirements, pain points, and target-state requirements.
• Design end-to-end functional solutions aligned with business requirements and ERP best practices.
• Lead functional configuration and solution design across relevant Workday Financials areas.
• Develop and maintain functional process flows, solution design documents, configuration specifications, and other project documentation.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications for integrations, reports, extensions, and related technical development.
• Work closely with technical teams responsible for integration development, report development, extensions, and other system components.
• Review solution designs, interfaces, reports, and queries to ensure alignment with functional requirements.
• Manage project activities, deliverables, timelines, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
• Lead and coordinate functional team members across different workstreams.
• Support testing, deployment, training, change management, cutover, and post-implementation activities.
• Provide functional guidance and resolve complex solution and process issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Promote standard ERP capabilities and leading practices while minimizing unnecessary customization.

Required Skills

• 10–15 years of relevant experience in ERP, finance transformation, functional consulting, or enterprise systems implementation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Workday Financials .
• Strong experience in functional solution architecture , including translating business requirements into target-state ERP solutions.
• Functional knowledge across relevant Workday areas, including:
• Financial Accounting
• Customers
• Procurement
• Business Assets
• Banking & Settlement
• Projects
• Strong understanding of finance processes, accounting concepts, and enterprise financial operations.
• Experience delivering cloud-based ERP implementations, preferably including full lifecycle implementations.
• Ability to manage projects, functional workstreams, and delivery teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams responsible for integrations, reports, and extensions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• PMP or equivalent project management certification .
• Previous consulting experience, particularly within a major consulting or systems integration environment.
• Exposure to additional ERP functional domains such as:
• SAP: FICO, MM, PP
• Oracle: AP, AR, GL, FA, CM, PO, OM
• Workday Financials certification or relevant Workday implementation credentials.
• Experience working on large-scale finance or ERP transformation programmes.
