Job description - the role

On behalf of Arup, we are looking for an Internal Auditor for a 6-month temporary contract based in London (hybrid working). Purpose of the role: As an Internal Auditor, you will deliver risk-based internal audits, monitor audit actions and provide practical recommendations to improve controls and governance. You will work closely with stakeholders and the co-source audit partner to support a high-quality, value-adding Internal Audit function.

What you'll do:

• Deliver high-quality internal audit engagements in line with the approved audit plan.
• Monitor and track audit actions, escalating overdue or high-risk items where required.
• Liaise with the co-source audit partner and review their audit working papers and reports.
• Support hybrid audit engagements, working collaboratively with internal and external teams.
• Contribute to annual audit planning, aligning activity with key risk priorities.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and senior management across the business.

The skills you'll need:

• Experience delivering end-to-end internal audits within an internal audit environment.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent.
• Experience in risk-based audits covering financial controls, business processes and governance, risk or compliance.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and constructively challenge management.
• Excellent audit report writing skills, with clear and practical recommendations.
• Strong understanding of internal audit standards, methodologies and best practice.
