About the Position: Recruitment/Relocation/Retention incentive may be requested through management and may be authorized up to 25% of base salary per year to be paid bi-weekly for a period of service up to 18 months.

Major duties

  • Serves as Supervisory Transportation Manager for Surface Deployment Distribution Command (SDDC) Transportation Battalion.
  • The incumbent will have delegation of authority to act for the Battalion Commander on all matters related to movement of cargo through the command's ports.
  • The incumbent will have overall responsibility for the planning, coordinating, directing, supervising and managing all activities related to Defense Transportation System (DTS) cargo movement through the terminal and area of responsibility (AOR).
  • Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises traffic management and cargo operations for the import and export of all military cargo transiting the command.
  • Serves as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) responsible for the Stevedoring and Related Terminal Services (SRTS) contract in support of Department of Defense (DOD) cargo transportation in commercially contracted vessels.
  • Supervises a team of HN and US employees performing traffic management, transportation, and marine cargo duties.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Planning, coordinating, directing, and supervising all activities related to marine cargo movements and operations through terminal and performing contract administration in support of cargo transportation. . This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
