FAMILY PROGRAM ASSISTANT
This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a FAMILY PROGRAM ASSISTANT, Position Description Number PDD1745000 , and is part of the SC J11, South Carolina Army National Guard.
Major duties
This position is located in the Joint Force Headquarters (State), Manpower and Personnel Directorate (J-1), Support Programs Division. The purpose of the position is to provide support in the administration of Family Program services for the National Guard and Reserve members within the state. Work involving supervising or performing clerical, assistant, or technical work which requires knowledge of the procedures, established guidelines, and techniques involved in carrying out the work of the organization.
Qualifications
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Areas 1 & 2 Only. First Area: Current permanent employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard. Second Area: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard. Third Area: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard. GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education, or training which indicates the candidate performed progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 1 year experience performing administrative work, gathering information, compiling data and preparing reports. Experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or law. Experience using oral and written communication.
Education
Substitution of Education for specialized experience - Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions.
