Your tasks
The General Manager, Industrial – EMEA is the senior leader of Armstrong’s Industrial business (Industrial Gas and Industrial Fluids) across the UK and EMEA. The role provides local leadership, direction and accountability for the Industrial team in the region, with Project Engineering and regional Industrial Sales reporting directly into the role. Service teams report directly into the Global Services Manager and indirectly into this role. The General Manager partners closely with the global Industrial leadership team, and with Engineering and Controls, which report separately in the structure, to deliver profitable growth.
A defining part of the role is working with the region to support the development of Industrial solutions: connecting regional customer and market insight with global Product, Engineering and Applications expertise, so that what we offer is technically sound, commercially compelling and deliverable. The General Manager leads the regional Industrial Sales team and interfaces with the Engineering teams, working cohesively with them to develop these solutions and to grow opportunities from the sale of individual Armstrong products into fully integrated solutions.
This role is accountable for

- Direct leadership of the regional Project Engineering and Industrial Sales teams, and indirect leadership of Service, including delivery performance, customer commitments and margin
- Alignment of regional activity with global Industrial functional leaders (Services, Sales, Engineering and Controls) on standards, process and priorities

- Contribute to Industrial Gas and Industrial Fluids growth strategy, including priority segments such as metals, mining, cement and food & beverage.
- Support the Global General Manager, Industrial in shaping organisation design, resourcing plans and the investment case for EMEA.
Industrial P&L Oversight & Financial Governance
- The Regional Manager owns the regional business P&L, into which all Industrial financials are consolidated. Maintain oversight of the Industrial EMEA P&L, which sits alongside it to ensure the profitability and viability of the Industrial vertical.
- Work with Finance to ensure the Industrial P&L is accurate, timely and consistent with the regional P&L, including the agreed allocation of revenue, cost and margin.
- Review order intake, revenue, margin, project profitability and service performance with regional and global leaders; identify risks and opportunities, and recommend and agree corrective action with the Regional Manager, who owns the regional P&L.
- Support forecasting, budgeting and annual planning, including the headcount and investment plan for the Industrial team.
- Provide Industrial financial reporting and commentary to the Global General Manager and global leadership team.
- Promote commercial discipline across pricing and margin, contract terms, project cost control and working capital.

- Work with the Global Services Manager to align service priorities, resource planning and customer commitments with regional needs and the Industrial P&L.
- Support safe, high-quality service delivery, cost recovery and customer satisfaction, and the growth of aftermarket and installed-base service revenue in the region.
- Ensure smooth handover between project delivery and Service.
- Contribute to performance, development and succession discussions for the regional Service team with the Global Services Manager, and support local people matters, including apprentice and early-careers pipelines.
Solutions Development & Regional Enablement
- Work with the region to support the development of Industrial solutions: capture customer needs and market insight, shape solution concepts with Product, Engineering and Applications, and take them through to compelling commercial offers.
- Lead regional Sales and interface with the regional Engineering teams, working cohesively as one team to develop Industrial solutions and to move customers from the purchase of individual Armstrong products to fully integrated solutions that deliver greater value and a larger share of each opportunity.
