We are looking for an AI Engineer I to join a team dedicated exclusively to Artificial Intelligence, focused on following the most recent advances in LLMs and Generative AI and rapidly transforming them into high-impact solutions for Education. You will work alongside other AI Engineers and pedagogical specialists, in an environment of continuous learning, experimentation, and collaboration, developing products that reach millions of students throughout Brazil.

In your day-to-day, you will:

Business Vision

• Understand the trade-offs of applying Generative AI and Machine Learning on the real impact on key business indicators;
• Translate business needs into viable technical solutions using LLMs and data.
• Co-create solutions with the Product, Software Engineering, and design teams.

AI and Software Engineering

• Autonomously develop solutions with frontier LLMs that interact with millions of users in the Education field;
• Deeply understand and apply AI concepts such as Vector Databases, multimodal LLMs, Single Agents, Multi-Agent systems;
• Develop and optimize annotation, validation, and quality pipelines for LLM applications, implementing evals, LLM-as-a-judge, evaluation metrics, etc.
• Use the team's development stack (CI/CD, infrastructure for LLMs, governance, and API/computation cost optimization).

Innovation and Prototyping

• Interact with teachers, students, families, directors, and pedagogical specialists to co-create solutions for the educational environment;
• Build and influence the team to build prototypes with speed and adaptability for rapid validation of business and technical hypotheses;
• Actively research new papers, technical blogs, and major global AI conferences to bring trends, new libraries, and AI techniques to the team.

What we expect from you:

• Genuine interest in the theme of Education and human learning;
• Solid theoretical and practical foundation (via academic projects, open-source, or professional work) in Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering, or development of LLM-based applications;
• Fluency in Python, Git, and depth in Software Engineering best practices (Clean Code, Unit Tests, Design Patterns);
• Communication skills to translate complex technical concepts to product and business stakeholders;
• English (Intermediate to Advanced) with excellent reading skills for consuming documentation, scientific articles, and AI papers.

• Practical experience in building systems that require recurrent interaction with domain experts
