NDT Technician / Specialist

Apolloflow is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician / Specialist to support and strengthen our growing aerospace NDT capabilities.

The successful candidate will perform NDT inspections in accordance with approved procedures, applicable aerospace standards and regulatory requirements. Candidates with Radiographic Testing (RT) Level 2 experience are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform NDT inspections in accordance with approved technical data, procedures and applicable aerospace standards.
• Set up and calibrate NDT equipment, interpret and evaluate indications, and accurately document inspection results within the individual’s approved qualification and authorisation.
• Support inspection and certification activities in accordance with the organisation’s approved procedures and authorisation system.
• Maintain full traceability and proper NDT inspection records.
• Ensure compliance with applicable requirements including NAS 410 / EN 4179, company Written Practice and relevant aviation regulatory requirements.
• Support internal, customer, regulatory and Nadcap audits as required.
• Maintain NDT equipment, reference standards, consumables and associated inspection controls.
• Participate in safety, Human Factors, quality and continuous-improvement activities.
• Support the training and development of junior NDT personnel where appropriately qualified and authorised.
• Undertake additional NDT method qualification and development as required to support the company’s expanding capabilities.

Essential Requirements

• NAS 410 / EN 4179 Level 2qualification/certification in at least one applicable NDT method is strongly preferred.
• Candidates holding Level 1with relevant aerospace experience and a clear pathway toward Level 2 may also be considered for a development position.
• Practical NDT inspection experience in an aerospace, aviation or MRO environment is strongly preferred.
• Relevant technical qualification in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, NDT or another related technical discipline.
• Good understanding of NDT procedures, inspection techniques, equipment calibration, interpretation/evaluation of indications and inspection documentation.
• Good understanding of quality, safety, traceability and procedural compliance requirements within a regulated environment.

Priority NDT Capability

Candidates with the following qualifications and experience will have a distinct advantage:

• Radiographic Testing (RT) –Level 2
• Penetrant Testing /Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (PT/FPI)
• Magnetic Testing (MT)
• Eddy Current Testing (ET)
• Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
• Visual Testing / Remote Visual Inspection (VT/RVI)

Multi-method NDT qualification and aerospace experience will be an advantage.

Additional Advantages

• CAAS-approved aviation/MRO environment
• FAA, EASA or CAAC regulatory requirements
• Nadcap NDT requirements
• Aerospace Quality Management Systems
• NAS 410 / EN 4179 Written Practice and personnel qualification/certification requirements
• Internal, customer or regulatory audits
• Root Cause Analysis and corrective/preventive action
• Safety Management Systems and Human Factors

• Mentor and develop junior NDT personnel when appropriately qualified; and
• For a suitably qualified and experienced candidate, develop toward greater NDT technical leadership and potentially Responsible Level 3 responsibilities.
