Senior Finance Executive | Retail Sector @ Somerset

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Executive to manage daily financial operations, manage accounts payable and receivable, assist with month-end and year-end closing, ensure compliance with statutory and tax regulations, and provide financial planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting

• Manage full sets of accounts, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP).
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, P&L reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in compliance with accounting standards.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, variance analysis, and audit schedules.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Monitor cash flow, handle bank reconciliations, and manage payment processing (including GIRO, wire transfers, and PayNow transactions).
• Track and reconcile vendor invoices, corporate card expenses, and staff reimbursements.

Compliance & Tax Management

• Ensure accurate and timely computation and filing of GST, corporate tax, and other statutory requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial vendors, and financial institutions as required.

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Assist management in preparing annual budgets, forecasting, and tracking departmental expenses.
• Monitor operating costs, overheads, and rental/lease commitments to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Process Improvement

• Streamline finance workflows, implement internal control procedures, and adopt digital tools or accounting software upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field .
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance management.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore payroll, CPF, and MOM regulations (Infotech).
• Experience managing audits and financial reporting .
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB , or equivalent.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Experience in the retail sector is preferred.
