HR Officer

Location: Brent, London Salary: From £30,000 pro rata, depending on experience Contract: Temp to Perm Start: ASAP

Apex Educ8 is working with a school in Brent to recruit an experienced and organised HR Officer to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is a school-based role supporting the day-to-day HR function, with responsibility for maintaining accurate employee records, supporting recruitment and onboarding, and ensuring HR processes are managed efficiently and in line with relevant policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
• Support recruitment, onboarding and pre-employment processes
• Coordinate references, DBS checks and other compliance requirements
• Assist with contracts, letters and changes to employee records
• Support absence, attendance and leave administration
• Provide administrative support on routine HR matters
• Maintain HR systems and ensure information is accurate and up to date
• Support the implementation and review of HR policies and procedures
• Prepare HR reports and information when required
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information
• Work closely with the wider school leadership and administration teams

Requirements

• Previous experience in an HR Officer or similar HR role
• Experience working within a school or education setting is desirable
• Strong understanding of HR administration and employment processes
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
• Good IT and record-keeping skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
