*ABOUT US*

Anvil West Construction specializes in framing and forming high end custom homes based primarily out of the west side of Vancouver. As a company, we place a high degree of emphasis on team building, training, mentorship and professionalism and are looking to hire a Framing Carpenter that also values these qualities and is looking for long-term employment with a reputable company. This position is not a Foreman role, so you will not be required to be 100% fluent in plan reading, running a crew or doing material takeoffs. You will be expected to be able to have an understanding of basic framing tasks such as building walls, sheathing, building floors, decks and parapets.

*IDEAL CANDIDATE*

For this position we believe the ideal candidate will have at a minimum two years of prior experience in framing, forming or some other form of wood frame construction. Finally, to be considered for this position candidates should posses SOME of the following job skills:

*JOB SKILLS*

• You are able to follow layout for wall and floor systems without any mistakes
• You can build interior, walls, brace and plumb them
• You are able to spread trusses, install truss bracing, fascia and subfascial independently
• You are able to build footings and foundation walls based
• You are able to complete back framing independently and identify missing shear walls, squash blocks, drag struts, HD?s, A35?s, LPT4?s, etc.. from the structural plans
• You MAY have some experience with layout for floor systems, interior walls etc..
• You are able to build small architectural concrete retaining walls

*PERSONALITY TRAITS*

• You?re a hard worker who keeps busy and is not easily bothered by weather conditions
• You can listen and take directions from senior team members and ask questions when you are unsure of the instructions or assignment you?ve been given.
• You posses good attention to detail and take pride in your work
• You are punctual and consistently show up on time for work

*OTHER EXPECTATIONS*

You are physically fit, able to lift 75 lbs, and do not have pre-existing injuries that would inhibit you in doing your job.
