Quality Control Analyst
Responsibilities:
Analysis: Perform daily chemical and physical tests on crude and refined oil samples, specifically monitoring Free Fatty Acids (FFA), Peroxide Value (PV), iodine value moisture, and impurities. In-Process Monitoring: Regularly walk the factory floor to collect oil samples from the refining to ensure intermediate processing specs are met. Packaging & Date Checks: Conduct routine inspections on the semi-automatic bottling line to verify fill weights, secure sealing, correct batch coding, and accurate production/expiry dates. Regulatory Compliance: Maintain rigorous documentation, batch records, and lab logs to guarantee the plant is always audit-ready for NAFDAC, SON, and local health inspectors. Hygiene & GMP Enforcement: Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and workplace hygiene across the production floor, ensuring staff follow safe, food-grade handling protocols. Rejection Management: Identify out-of-specification batches immediately, and coordinate with the Production Manager to isolate and correct the issue.

A minimum of an HND in chemistry, biochemistry, food science & technology, or a closely related scientific discipline. 2-5 years of practical laboratory or QC experience within a food manufacturing environment (direct experience in edible oil processing is highly preferred). Practical mastery of basic laboratory titration techniques, weight checks, and the calibration of common lab equipment (PH meters, moisture analyzers, refractometers). Strong understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles, GMP, and Nigerian regulatory standards for food safety. Exceptional attention to detail, high integrity, and the confidence to halt production if quality standards are compromised.
Remuneration: NGN 130,000-150,000 Monthly (Negotiable Upward)
