Your tasks
Finance
- Produce monthly management accounts for each company and a consolidated group view, on time and audit-ready.
- Run cash: weekly cash position, a rolling 13-week forecast, banking relationships and payment controls.
- Own budgets and the financial model, and track performance against them.
- Keep the tax and statutory calendar for every entity: VAT, WHT, PAYE, company income tax and filings in Nigeria, plus US filings with external advisers.
- Prepare for audits and manage the auditors. Manage intercompany balances and agreements, and keep each company's ledgers and money separate.
- Lead capital raising with the founder: financial model, data room, investor materials, due diligence and investor reporting for a convertible note and a larger equity round.
- Oversee fund accounting and the fund administrator for the agriculture fund, and coordinate legal counsel on financing matters.
- Design and enforce finance policies and internal controls, including segregation of duties.
Operations
- Lead client implementations end to end: scope, plan, data migration, configuration, user testing, training, cutover, go-live and hypercare.
- Run quality control for live clients: monthly service reviews, service levels, issue tracking to closure and client health scores.
- Own client support: first-line help desk, escalation to engineering, and incident communication.
- Work with the CTO on release planning and go-live readiness, so no release endangers a client's month-end.
- Keep the implementation playbook, templates and checklists current, and make sure client data is handled in line with the NDPA 2023 and each contract.
Leadership
- Lead the accounting team (Accounting Manager and Staff Accountant) and the delivery team (implementation consultants, data analysts and support staff), and use our own software in the finance function.
- Report weekly to the CEO on finance, cash, implementations, risks, service levels and client health.
Requirements
- A Chartered Accountant qualification: ICAN, ACCA or CPA (US).
- 12+ years in finance, with 5+ leading the finance function of a technology, fintech or financial services business.
- A track record of running operations or delivering enterprise software implementations or finance transformation projects for large Nigerian organisations, on time.
- Hands-on experience raising capital (equity, convertible notes or debt) and working with investors.
- Multi-entity and cross-border experience (Nigeria and USA is a strong advantage), and command of IFRS.
- Strong project and people management (PMP or PRINCE2 is an advantage), confidence with CFOs and finance directors, and calm under month-end pressure.
- Strong modelling, comfort with data (Excel, SQL basics) and with working alongside engineers, and the ability to explain numbers simply to the founder, investors and banks.
- High integrity and a firm hand on controls and compliance.
What we offer
- A group-wide senior leadership seat with a direct line to the founder, himself a CPA and ICAN member.
- Competitive base plus an annual performance bonus tied to finance and delivery goals (band shown on the listing), and share options under the company's employee share option plan.
- Pension and paid leave in line with Nigerian law.
How to apply
- Apply on Jobberman with your CV and a short cover note.
- Describe a capital raise or finance turnaround you led, and an implementation or operation you delivered under pressure.
