Project Background

The Organics Mobilized: Accelerating Social Transformation Towards Circular Bioeconomy project supports Armenia's transition toward sustainable organic waste and biomass management through integrated circular economy approaches. The project is implemented by the American University of Armenia (AUA) in partnership with UNDP Armenia, funded by the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) Food and Nutrition Challenge, a United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Initiative.

The project aims to reduce methane and other climate pollutant emissions from the organic waste sector by strengthening national and municipal capacities, improving source separation and valorization of organic waste, piloting decentralized circular bioeconomy solutions, promoting sustainable cold-chain technologies, and facilitating behavioral and institutional transformation through Living Labs and Learning Communities.

Objective

To provide administrative, logistical, and operational support to the Organics Mobilized project team, ensuring the timely organization of project activities, effective management of project documentation and communications, and smooth implementation of administrative and reporting processes in accordance with AUA policies and project requirements.

Scope of Work and Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the project team.

Assist with the processing and administration of project-related contracts, invoices, timesheets, purchase requests, and other financial or administrative documents.

Provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, workshops, consultations, events, and other project activities.

Ensure the timely filing and archiving of project documentation and correspondence.

Perform other administrative and project-related duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Financial Assistant.

Support from AUA

The Administrative assistant will work under the supervision of the Project Manager and in close collaboration with the project implementation team and relevant AUA administrative and finance units.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Environmental Management or a related field. 

Relevant professional training or certification in office administration, project administration, or related fields is an advantage. 

At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in project administration, program support, office administration, event coordination, or a related field.

Experience supporting projects, development programs, international organizations, NGOs or similar organizations is an advantage.

Demonstrated experience in administrative coordination, document management, meeting and event organization, and general operational support.

Experience supporting procurement and/or financial administrative processes is an advantage.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and well-organized records.

Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide timely and responsive administrative support.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow established procedures.

Excellent written and spoken English and Armenian.
