Maintenance Supervisor

Purpose and scope:

Supervise the maintenance cycle to ensure satisfactory completion of the program objectives.

Essential responsibilities:

Supervise all maintenance operations for assigned equipment in accordance with applicable PWS, company policies, OSHA, DOT, ANSI, ASME and applicable military regulations.

Supervise shop foreman and mechanics to include vacation planning, discipline, conducting performance evaluations, and training.

Establish job priorities and estimate down time.

Coordinate workflow for downed equipment waiting for parts to minimize backlog of work and cost to customer division.

Provide direct support to internal and external customers to ensure compliance, tracking efficiency, burn rates, equipment usage and maximizing cost avoidance measures.

Supervise the recovery operations of MHE, VE, CE, heavy and light vehicle maintenance throughout assigned area of operation.

Coordinate the proper administration, maintenance and distribution of approved publications, warranty documentation, and LDD and ECOD documentation.

Provide input to management for forecasting and monitoring of the stock levels for required service and repair parts and petroleum.

Responsible for the accurate and timely submission of all required plans and reports.

Maintain effective lines of formal and informal communication amongst all levels of management and the customer as required.

Coordinate collection and preparation of activity reports.

Supervise and coordinate all maintenance activities required per the preventive maintenance program.

Provide for and enforce guidelines to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all assigned employees.

Act as the point of contact for all maintenance issues in the absence of the Maintenance Manager.

Monitor team development and ensure the execution of performance evaluations in accordance with DI policy.

Conduct site visits to establish professional relationships with maintenance teams, site personnel, and the customer as needed.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum position knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

Associate's degree in an associated discipline.

Two years of experience in related field can be substituted for each year of college.

Six to eight years of logistics experience in a military or tactical environment.

Prefer at least three years in a maintenance supervisor environment.

Understanding of organizational maintenance and supply concepts and procedures.

Understanding of maintenance production, production control and knowledge of U.S. Army maintenance support systems.

Knowledge of MHE, heavy truck and/or heavy equipment.

Knowledge of equipment parts acquisition, warranty, LDD, and ECOD submissions.

Must possess knowledge of DOT, OSHA, ANSI, ASME, military regulations, standards and OEM requirements.

Knowledge of diagnostics and ability to conduct technical research.

Strong understanding of Department of Defense contracting policies and procedures.

Outstanding problem solving skills and sound judgment.

Excellent writing, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrative proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Must be able to meet deployment status requirements.

Work environment, physical demands, and mental demands:

Ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, push and pull.

Ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds.

Assist in lifting up to one hundred pounds.

Able to work in both inside and outside conditions.

Be exposed to dust, fumes and gases from running engines and motors.

Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.

Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Other responsibilities:
