Vice President, SRE

Our client is seeking an exceptional Senior Vice President, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead and define the enterprise-wide reliability, observability, automation, and operational resilience strategy across mission-critical technology platforms. This executive leadership role will be responsible for building a world-class SRE organization, driving reliability as a strategic business capability, and ensuring technology services consistently meet the highest standards of performance, availability, and resilience.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders across Technology, Infrastructure, Security, Risk, Compliance, and Business functions to align reliability outcomes with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and long-term transformation initiatives.

Experience

• 15+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, Production Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or large-scale Technology Operations.
• Significant leadership experience managing senior engineering and operational teams within highly complex, always-on environments.
• Proven success in defining and implementing enterprise reliability strategies across large-scale platforms and services.

Technical Expertise

• Deep understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles, operational resilience, and production engineering.
• Strong expertise in: SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, Error Budgets, and DORA metrics
• Enterprise observability platforms such as Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, or similar technologies
• Cloud-native platforms and architectures
• Kubernetes, container orchestration, infrastructure automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Public cloud environments, preferably AWS

Governance & Regulatory Environment

• Experience operating within highly regulated industries where availability, resilience, governance, and risk management are critical.
• Strong understanding of operational risk, controls, audit, compliance, and resilience frameworks.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead cross-functional transformation initiatives.
• Strong communication, commercial acumen, vendor management, and people leadership capabilities.
• Proven track record of attracting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent.
