*Functional Responsibilities*

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating production schedules, ensuring timely and complete submission of jobs, and supporting the daily flow of production in our high-volume cabinet manufacturing environment. This position serves as a key link between operations, purchasing, engineering and production.

*Production Planning & Scheduling*

  • Process orders from Operations for production order entry.
  • Ensure special orders are flagged and actioned for further processing.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly production schedules based on deadlines, capacity, and material availability.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain production work orders and job documentation.
  • Monitor production progress and communicate schedule changes to the appropriate departments.
  • Identify potential delays or bottlenecks, material shortages, or scheduling conflicts and work with the production team to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate priorities between multiple projects and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Track work orders through various stages of production and maintain accurate status information in One Source.

*Materials & Inventory Coordination*

  • Coordinate with purchasing and inventory personnel to ensure required materials, hardware, and components are available for production.
  • Monitor material shortages and communicate requirements in advance.
  • Verify that materials are available before jobs are released to production.

*Cabinet Manufacturing Coordination*

  • Review documents for completeness and adherence to company procedures before production begins.
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineers to clarify discrepancies or missing information.
  • Follow up on custom or special-order components.
  • Coordinate rework, replacements, and production corrections when required.

*Communication & Team Coordination*

  • Act as a key communication link between operations, production, finishing, and shipping teams.
  • Provide production updates to management and project teams.
  • Participate in production meetings and follow up on assigned action items.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Monitor production performance against daily delivery schedules and escalate issues that may affect delivery commitments.

*Quality & Process Improvement*

  • Identify recurring production issues and communicate them to management.
  • Assist with investigating errors, damaged components, shortages, and rework.
  • Help implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve on-time delivery.
  • Maintain accurate production records, spreadsheets, and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
