Fuselage Structure Specialist (Aerospace) M/F
The Direction des Compétences et des Practices (DCP) is the host entity for the Specialists of the Alten Group. It is dedicated to managing high-level expertise needs. To strengthen its Mechanical Engineering Practice, the DCP is looking for a Specialist – Fuselage Structure acting in close collaboration with the Practice Manager. As the technical representative of the Group for his/her profession, he/she intervenes on internal or client expertise needs, in synergy with the Operational Directorates.
In collaboration with the Practice Manager and the team of Specialists in his/her sector, he/she intervenes on 3 main axes: 1/ responding to technical expertise needs related to the fuselage structure with multi-sector coverage for our clients and on our projects. 2/ The structuring of our Specialist sector in the short / medium / long term. 3/ The animation of the Mechanical Practice Consultant Community in his/her field: knowledge sharing, training, technical support.
Join a team dedicated to the design and optimization of fuselage structures for major aeronautical programs. You will be responsible for performing advanced 3D studies on key areas of the fuselage (nose section, center section, rear empennage, etc.), working on modifications or reinforcements of primary and secondary structures.
- Performance of 3D studies on fuselage structures
3D studies at maturity A, B, and C on strategic areas: Nose section. Center fuselage, including keel beam, belly fairing and floor structure. Rear tail cone.
Modifications and reinforcements of primary structures: Door frames. Orbital and longitudinal junctions. Integration of new structural elements.
- Proposal of technical and architectural solutions
Being a force for proposal for construction principles and architecture choices of structures. Optimization of designs in collaboration with system engineering and calculation teams.
- Design of primary and secondary structures
Design of machined and sheet metal parts: Panels (Skin), frames, stringers, doublers. Splices, plates, straps, stabs, intercostals. Beams, webs, fittings, thresholds/ upper beam, angles, brackets.
Integration of constraints: Mechanical strength. Optimization of mass and costs. Manufacturing Engineering.
- Technical Expertise and Professional Animation
Intervening as technical expertise during pre-sales phases: understanding Client needs, developing the technical response in collaboration with the Commercial Directorate and the Project Directorate. Working on the animation of skills and the development of knowledge within his/her professional Community. Participating in major external events and sharing circles specific to his/her sector (trade fairs, conferences, associations…), searching for partnerships.
Minimum 5 years of experience in aeronautical structure design (fuselage, primary/secondary elements). Knowledge of design standards and rules (RSDP, TDI, etc.). Mastery of 3D CAD on Catia V5 or 3D Experience with part design, generative shape design, assembly, sheet metal aerospace, hole and fasteners modules. Good client relations: ability to exchange with ordering parties and internal teams. Team spirit: collaboration with design offices, production, and subcontractors. Autonomy and rigor: management of technical projects with methodology. English mandatory.
