ALTEN is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting an exciting and technically challenging engineering programme. This opportunity would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong Siemens NX experience who is confident developing detailed 3D designs and engineering drawings within a complex engineering environment. Location: Bicester  On Site: Onsite  Clearance: Clearable Experience Level: Mid Level Key Responsibilities: Develop and modify 3D mechanical designs using Siemens NX Produce accurate 2D engineering drawings to support manufacture and assembly Design mechanical components and assemblies in line with engineering requirements Work closely with engineering, manufacturing and technical teams throughout the design lifecycle Review existing designs and implement engineering modifications where required Ensure designs meet relevant quality, manufacturing and technical standards Support design reviews and resolve technical issues during development

Required Skills: 3+ years’ experience within Mechanical Design, CAD Engineering or a similar role Experience within the Aerospace Industry Strong hands-on experience with Siemens NX – mandatory Experience creating detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings Good understanding of mechanical engineering and design principles Experience working with mechanical components and assemblies Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering requirements Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering , or  equivalent   military experience . Desirable Skills: Experience within a highly regulated or complex engineering environment Knowledge of GD&T and engineering tolerancing Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture Experience supporting designs from concept through to production
