ALTEN Sud-Ouest, a key player in aeronautical engineering, is looking for a Tooling Design Project Manager to strengthen its team dedicated to Jigs & Tools (production and assembly tooling). You will work on innovative programs, in collaboration with major customers in the sector, to design, industrialize, and optimize the tools necessary for the manufacture and assembly of aircraft. Main Missions
- Management of tooling design projects
Define technical specifications for tooling (jigs, gauges, assembly tools) in collaboration with engineering and production teams. Plan and monitor project stages (studies, prototyping, validation, industrialization) while respecting deadlines, costs, and quality requirements. Coordinate stakeholders: design offices, suppliers, manufacturing workshops, and production teams to ensure the consistency of deliverables.
- Technical management and problem solving
Validate the compliance of tooling with aeronautical standards (EASA, FAA) and customer requirements. Analyze technical risks (ergonomics, precision, durability) and propose innovative solutions to optimize performance. Supervise testing and fine-tuning of tooling in the workshop or on the production line.
- Optimization and continuous improvement
Capitalize on field feedback to improve existing designs and reduce production costs. Integrate new technologies (3D simulation, additive manufacturing, automation) to modernize tooling. Participate in the standardization of design and validation processes within ALTEN.
- Interface with stakeholders
Lead technical reviews with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to validate design choices. Report on project progress to program managers and customers. Train and support production teams in the use of new tooling.
Profile sought Education and Experience Engineering degree in mechanics, aeronautics, or industrial production, with a specialization in tooling design or industrialization. Proven experience (from 5 years) in technical project management in the field of aeronautical tooling (Jigs & Tools). Knowledge of CAD software (CATIA V5/V6, NX, SolidWorks) and manufacturing methods (machining, composite, metrology). Key Skills Technical expertise: mastery of tooling design constraints (tolerances, materials, ergonomics). Project management: ability to manage complex projects in a multi-stakeholder environment (Agile methods, V-cycle). Leadership and communication: ability to unite multidisciplinary teams and interact with technical and managerial interlocutors. Rigor and analysis: attention to detail to guarantee the precision and reliability of tooling. Mastery of technical English (professional level).
