Localization Engineering Lead

Job Responsibilities: - Leading and mentoring a team of localization engineers, including task allocation, performance evaluation, and skill development

• Leading the resolution of complex localization and internationalization problems escalated from the team - Managing and improving automated localization processes and CI/CD integrations across multiple client accounts - Overseeing and directing the development of scripts and tools for workflow optimization, format validation, and content pre- and post-processing - Acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients, including defining the scope of new engineering tasks and managing escalations - Coordinating collaboration with clients' existing localization teams, project managers, and service providers to ensure smooth integration with their established processes - Monitoring team workload, client account SLAs, and project delivery quality - Standardizing documentation, onboarding processes for new employees, and best practices across the team

Other requirements: - Strong computer and technical skills and practical experience with localization and internationalization technical solutions

• Good Java (2+ years) and Python (3+ years) knowledge - Very good English and Russian language skills - In-depth knowledge of localization workflows, CI/CD processes, and file formats (XLIFF, JSON, PO/POT, RESX, YAML, etc.) - Experience in leading or mentoring members of a technical team - Experience collaborating with client or internal stakeholders who already have established localization processes - Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize between multiple client accounts and projects simultaneously - Very good inter-team collaboration and communication skills, including with non-technical stakeholders. Advantages: - Previous work experience at a localization service provider (LSP), localization company, or a company providing globalization services - Experience with TMS platforms (Phrase, Lokalise, Crowdin, Smartling, memoQ, etc.) - Knowledge of character encoding, i18n/l10n principles, plural forms, and locale-based formatting at a consulting and architecture level - Experience with Git-based workflows and code review processes - Experience with test automation frameworks or API-based integrations - Experience in a pre-sales technical role or defining the technical scope of client projects.
