Job purpose

This position exists to plan, control and monitor the execution of electrical related project tasks efficiently, in a timely manner and quality standards as per the defined policies and procedures to achieve departmental operational plans and developments.

Key accountability areas

Perform erection, testing and commissioning of power/distribution transformers at site and factory.

Perform troubleshooting, maintenance and testing of power/distribution transformers.

Inspect transformer upon arrival and perform necessary tests.

Check the availability of all the accessories for the transformer.

Check the impact recorders and collect data from them.

Check the requirements of crane or other equipment for the assembly or disassembly of the transformer at sites or factory.

Perform the routine electrical tests of transformer in factory and at site as per the international standards.

Perform the low voltage electrical tests at the site.

Plan day-to-day site activities for the timely completion of the job.

Perform the erection of the transformer accessories, vacuuming, oil filtration as per the laid down quality procedures.

Perform in-process testing of transformer during the various stages of repair or manufacturing.

Coordinate with marketing, planning and the customer for the gate passes and work permits etc. for the execution of the jobs.

Ensure best practices are followed for the testing of power and distribution transformers.

Role accountability

HR proficiency:

Training of subordinates and forming a team to get the work effectively achieved.

Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.

Delegate subordinates in each respective assignment.

Ensure fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale and motivation of subordinates.

Delivery:

Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.

Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.

Provide a periodic report detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

Problem-solving:

Resolve any related problems that arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

Quality:

Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products, processes or related activities.

Business process improvement (effectiveness):

Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities as much as possible.

Compliance:

Comply with related policy, procedures and work instructions.

Health & safety:

Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products and services.

Academic qualification

Bachelor degree in electrical engineering
