Role Description The Branch Manager role at Alert Group is a full-time, on-site position based in Port Harcourt. The Branch Manager oversees daily branch operations, including customer service delivery, compliance with regulatory and internal policies, cash management, and transaction monitoring. This role is responsible for leading and developing the branch team, setting performance goals, coaching staff, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive work environment. The Branch Manager drives business growth by identifying local market opportunities, building relationships with existing and prospective clients, and promoting the Group’s products and services. The role also includes preparing periodic performance reports, managing risk and credit quality, and working closely with senior management to implement strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising teams and supporting performance development. Branch operations and banking or financial services experience, including customer service, cash management, and compliance practices. Business development and relationship management skills, with the ability to grow a portfolio of SME and retail clients. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, assess risk, and make sound decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders. Organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in basic office software and branch-level banking or financial systems. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage. Prior experience in microfinance, retail banking, asset management, or SME lending is highly beneficial. Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and commitment to non-discriminatory, inclusive customer and employee practices.
