1 Water Strategy Expert How you will leave your mark Your main tasks in this position are:

• As an internal expert for ALDI's water strategy, you will ensure the alignment, technical rigor, and credibility of our measures for responsible water stewardship as well as compliance with environmental assessment requirements.
• You will support the development of ALDI's strategic approach to responsible water management, including the prioritization of risk areas and watersheds, the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) approach, alignment with the landscape and regenerative agriculture strategy, impact measurement approaches, and Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) requirements.
• You will support ALDI teams in applying technical guidelines for sustainability programs along the value chain and advise on strategies for responsible water management in priority agricultural supply chains and landscapes, focusing on dairy, beef, coffee, cocoa, and fruit and vegetables.
• Monitoring external developments from standards, frameworks, and guidelines related to responsible water use and corporate nature strategies, such as VBA, AWS, SBTN, etc., and integrating relevant insights into ALDI's water and nature strategy.
• You will maintain ALDI's external relationships and memberships with key players in the water and nature conservation sectors and promote opportunities for partnerships and collaborations.
• In close cooperation with international actors from the fields of procurement, sustainability, and external partner networks, we provide strategic advice and practical tips on the impacts of water, nature, and agricultural supply chains.

Your Profile The requirements for this position include:

• You have at least 5 years of demonstrable experience in implementing or contributing to strategies for responsible water management, water risks, nature conservation, and sustainable agriculture in companies, ideally in global food, retail, or agricultural supply chains.
• You have participated in technical working groups on water issues or in cross-industry collaborations, for example, through workshops, feedback, or testing instruments, frameworks, and other initiatives to accelerate collective corporate action in the water sector.
• You have sound knowledge of standards, frameworks, and tools in the field of water and nature, such as VBA, AWS, CDP Water, WRI Aqueduct, WWF Water Risk Filter, SBTN, TNFD, or similar approaches.
• You can translate complex topics from the fields of water, nature, and agricultural supply chains into clear strategic recommendations for commercial, technical, and non-technical audiences.
• You have the desire to work in a dynamic environment with like-minded colleagues and enjoy collaborating with international partners.
• You work confidently with uncertainties and develop practical strategies in an emerging field by linking technical water knowledge with business priorities, supplier realities, and credible impacts.
• You are fluent in English for business purposes.

Compensation Gross annual salary from €62,500* *Willingness to offer higher compensation depending on appropriate qualifications
