Project Engineer
ALATAS Crane Services Worldwide is a crane service specialist operating worldwide, providing crane-related services and parts supply to the ship, offshore, port and construction industries. Alatas operates out of 14 offices across the globe, we offer field service, technical solutions for emergency repairs, large-scale overhauls, load testing, inspections, component repairs, spare parts supply, and the supply of new cranes and upgrades to existing ones. Our Singapore Projects Department plans and delivers crane repair, overhaul, upgrade and installation projects for customers onshore and offshore. We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join the team. Key Responsibilities: · Provide project engineering support to the Project Manager, ensuring onshore and offshore projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget · Support all aspects of crane, lifting and related service activities within the Projects Department · Prepare commercial tenders, cost estimates, technical calculations and work procedures for crane repair and servicing projects onshore and offshore · Maintain and control project files and documentation · Act as a key point of contact for clients’ representatives and subcontractors, building strong working relationships and keeping all parties informed · Purchase equipment, tools and consumables for each project and arrange the related logistics · Prepare and compile project and technical reports · Attend site and offshore locations as required to support project execution Job Requirements: · Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Marine or Hydraulic Engineering, or equivalent · Minimum [3] years’ experience in project engineering and/or service and repair of marine, off shore or port cranes · Experience in a project engineering role with a crane manufacturer will be an added advantage · Good working knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems, load charts and lifting operations · Proven experience preparing tenders, cost estimates and work procedures, and handling the commercial aspects of projects · Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage · Valid BOSIET / HUET and offshore medical certificate, or willingness to obtain them · Highly organised, meticulous and self-motivated, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment · Good written and verbal communication skills · Willing to travel locally and overseas, work offshore, and work beyond office hours, on weekends or at short notice when project needs require
