Operations Manager (Catering & Events)
About the company
Two businesses, one kitchen, one manager. The Alangkaar group – Alangkaar Pte Ltd (Indian weddings and events) and Raja's Catering (Indian Cooked Food Catering Service Pte Ltd, halal South and North Indian catering) – is hiring one Operations Manager to run both day to day. Everything is cooked at our central kitchen at 15 Woodlands Loop and delivered to events across Singapore.
Your tasks
What you run
- Alangkaar events: decoration, catering, sales, event management, rentals, procurement and tentage, from confirmed booking to teardown.
- Raja's Catering: the production plan with the head chef, order flow from our online order system to the kitchen production board, dispatch and delivery, stock and purchasing, hygiene and SFA compliance, and every customer note honoured on every order.
- The team that reports to you: head chef and kitchen crew, order-desk sales reps, drivers and our logistics partner, and the events team of project managers and designers, plus part-time event crew. Finance, HR and admin support is in place.
- The numbers: food cost, margin on every quote, on-time delivery, event-day readiness. Day-to-day decisions are yours.
A typical week Monday: the week's production and delivery plan with the head chef. Midweek: supplier prices, stock count, quote margins, readiness checks three days before each event. Event days: you own the run sheet. Weddings, corporate functions and festive peaks such as Deepavali are our busiest periods; event weekends are worked with a weekday off in lieu.
Requirements
You must have
- 3+ years running day-to-day operations of an F&B, catering or events business: rosters, suppliers, delivery or event schedules.
- Owned the numbers (food cost or margins, purchasing budgets), not just the tasks.
- Led a chef or senior tradespeople and changed how they work.
- Run operations on systems: Zoho Books or similar, spreadsheets, an online order system and a kitchen production board.
- Availability for weekend event work.
Good to have: WSQ Food Safety Level 3 or 4; experience in South or North Indian catering or wedding events; knowledge of South and North Indian menus and wedding event flow.
