MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER – HVAC

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer – HVAC to join our engineering team in Nasr City, Cairo . The role is responsible for developing complete HVAC design solutions for building projects, preparing engineering calculations and technical drawings, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring that all designs comply with project requirements, applicable codes, and engineering standards. Key Responsibilities Develop complete HVAC design solutions for different types of building projects.

Perform cooling and heating load calculations and determine appropriate HVAC system requirements.

Prepare HVAC layouts, schematics, detailed drawings, and engineering calculations.

Design and size ductwork, ventilation systems, chilled water systems, and DX systems.

Perform fresh air, ventilation, smoke exhaust, and staircase pressurization calculations.

Select HVAC equipment based on project requirements and technical specifications.

Prepare and review design packages for Tender, IFC, and construction stages .

Coordinate HVAC systems with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire & Life Safety disciplines.

Review designs to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.

Prepare technical reports, specifications, BOQs, schedules, and design documentation.

Review technical submittals and provide engineering recommendations when required.

Resolve design and coordination issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Participate in internal technical reviews and maintain high standards of design quality and accuracy.

Provide technical support to project teams during different design and execution stages.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering design.
• Strong experience in HVAC design and calculations.
• Excellent knowledge of:
• Cooling Load Calculations
• HVAC System Selection and Design
• Ductwork Design and Sizing
• Chilled Water / DX Systems
• Equipment Selection
• Ventilation & Fresh Air Calculations
• Smoke Exhaust & Staircase Pressurization
• Ability to prepare and review HVAC design drawings, layouts, schematics, and technical calculations.
• Good knowledge of relevant Saudi Building Code (SBC), ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other applicable standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP is highly preferred.
• Ability to coordinate HVAC designs with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, and Plumbing disciplines.
• Experience in preparing technical reports, design calculations, specifications, and BOQs.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience working with engineering consultants or design offices is preferred.
