Composite Calculation Engineer M/F

The Consulting & Solutions service line of Akkodis France is strengthening its regional teams and is recruiting a Composite Calculation Engineer M/F. This position in the Energy, Utilities, Oil and Gas environment offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects in the design and calculation of composite structures. You will work on the sizing, validation, and optimization of innovative parts within multidisciplinary teams.

Main responsibilities:

• Design and perform composite structure calculations to guarantee the strength and durability of parts.
• Analyze mechanical and thermal stresses on composite materials in different environments.
• Collaborate with design teams to integrate calculation results into product development.
• Validate numerical models through experimental testing and adjust simulation parameters.
• Write technical reports detailing calculations, methods, and conclusions.
• Participate in the optimization of composite manufacturing processes based on calculated results.
• Maintain technological watch on new materials and composite calculation software.
• Ensure compliance with current standards and regulations in the field of composite structures.

Working environment:

You will operate in a demanding technical context, within multidisciplinary teams, interacting with suppliers and various departments. Autonomy and the ability to take the lead on external exchanges are essential. Mastery of composite materials is indispensable, and the environment encourages skill development in various calculation and simulation tools.

Profile

With an engineering degree or equivalent, specializing in mechanics, materials, or structures, you have initial experience or a proven track record in composite structure calculation within an industrial sector. You are proficient in finite element calculation software (Abaqus, Ansys, or equivalents) and possess solid knowledge of the mechanical properties of composite materials. The ability to model deformation and fatigue phenomena, as well as the aptitude to write technical reports and communicate effectively, is expected. Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes, programming languages (Python, Matlab), and project management skills are assets. Autonomy, adaptability, and leadership skills in supplier exchanges are sought.
