Senior/Lead Hardware Engineer

We are looking for a new player for the Device division for the position of Senior/Lead Hardware Engineer. Device is the largest R&D division of Ajax Systems, providing a full cycle of development for security and automation devices. It combines the expertise of five departments: from Embedded programming and Hardware design to complex mechanics, pre-production, and international certification. The team works with STM32 microcontrollers and modern SoC, uses Embedded C, and solves complex challenges of energy efficiency (Low-Power), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) assurance, and scalability for manufacturing (DFM). Thanks to the integration of industrial design and proprietary radio protocols, the division creates mass-market reliable world-class products that combine high technology with affordable cost.
What you need to know and be able to do: design device circuitry: calculation of circuit elements, conducting device operation simulations;
design printed circuit boards in Altium Designer;
design devices taking certification requirements (LVD, EMC) into account;
design devices taking mass production requirements into account;
design low-power devices;
design mains devices (230 VAC);
optimize device cost (unification of the component base, searching for alternative components);
debug prototypes, search for and eliminate problems in devices;
prepare documentation for the production of printed circuit boards and their assemblies;
work with version control systems (git);
know English at the level of reading technical documentation.
It will be a plus: experience working with supply chain at large production volumes (10000+/month);
experience in creating embedded software for modern platforms (STM32, etc.), sufficient for debugging your own development;
understanding of signal integrity / power integrity principles in device design, as well as experience in modeling/characterization of topologies (S-parameters, PDN impedance).
What you will need to do: develop circuit solutions and printed circuit boards for new Ajax devices;
work on improving existing Ajax devices;
select component replacements, with a description of the tests required for this;
perform initial verification and debugging of prototypes (bring up);
bring projects to mass production (10000+/month).
