R&D is responsible for device development at Ajax, consisting of four departments: System, Device, Automation, and QA.
The System Department makes devices smart, turning them into a full-fledged IoT. They created and develop OS Malevich (a modular RTOS for various hardware platforms) and the Ajax Cloud cloud service (Java 20 / Kotlin, AWS, Akka, NATS, Kafka, Mongo, MySQL). For the management, maintenance, and monitoring of the system by users, installers, and security company engineers, applications have been developed for iOS (Objective-C, Swift), Android (Java, Kotlin), and Windows/macOS (Python / C++, QT, QML). We are looking for a Program Manager with experience managing large cross-functional teams, who will ensure predictable delivery and timely time-to-market through process unification, effective risk and escalation management. Must have experience in building operational processes from scratch, scaling teams, and forming long-term roadmaps.
Required knowledge and skills: 5+ years of experience in IT project management as a technical PM;
Leadership, proactivity, and a high level of self-organization;
Analytical, systemic, and critical thinking;
Experience working in integration projects;
Experience working with releases involving several teams simultaneously;
Knowledge and experience using agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and the ability to adapt them to project needs;
Knowledge of classical project management principles;
High communication skills: the ability to find compromises with stakeholders, obtain, and clarify all necessary information;
Ability to promptly solve problems, make decisions, and take responsibility;
Ability to work with a team, regardless of your mood or your team's mood, to lead, coordinate, and motivate;
English — no lower than Upper Intermediate.
Will be a plus: Experience working on projects with stable releases and real users;
Experience working with cross-platform projects, API, embedded, and server-side;
Understanding of client-server architecture functioning principles;
Experience working in a product company;
Setting up processes in a dynamic environment;
Direct involvement in scaling teams.
Tasks: Delivery of releases on time, with quality, and transparently for all process participants;
Creation of new or adaptation of existing interaction processes with adjacent systems;
Conducting negotiations on technical issues with developers, analysts, and partners;
Prompt resolution of issues arising during the integration and testing process with partners;
Supporting partners during acceptance testing;
Change and risk management of the project/program;
Estimating the scope of work and release planning;
Participation in prioritization and maintaining the relevance of team backlogs;
Planning and prioritization of release tasks for teams;
Interaction with the technical leader and architect at all stages of project development;
Interaction with stakeholders and the product owner;
Organization and modification of operational and working processes within the team to optimize resource usage;
Team resource management (organizing and participating in hiring, terminations, and creating personal development plans for employees);
Resolving organizational issues to maintain team comfort and focus on results.
