Industrial Automation Manager

The Prod Automation Departament focuses on maintaining the stability of mass production and expanding production capacities at new locations. The team develops unified platforms, sets standards, and technical requirements for development and production teams. The team's main tasks are process optimization, increasing equipment uptime, minimizing re-tests, and strategic reduction of production costs.
With the growth of production capacities and the number of projects, we are expanding our approach to implementing automation solutions, combining in-house development with the involvement of international technology partners and system integrators. We are looking for an Industrial Automation Manager who will be responsible for managing the production automation project portfolio, interacting with external contractors, accumulating expertise, and successfully implementing new production solutions at Ajax Systems plants.
Area of responsibility: Management of the automation project portfolio:
Formation and management of the automation initiative backlog.
Prioritization of projects based on production needs, business priorities, and available resources.
Planning the roadmap for automation project implementation.
Management of timelines, risks, budget, and cross-team dependencies.
Working with external integrators:
Formation of technical requirements and setting tasks to find potential suppliers and system integrators.
Participation in the technical evaluation of proposed concepts and the selection of optimal solutions.
Coordination of contractor work from the concept stage to final equipment delivery.
Organization of equipment acceptance tests at the supplier's site (Factory Acceptance Test, FAT) and after installation at the production site (Site Acceptance Test, SAT).
Ensuring the transfer of equipment into serial operation and the transfer of knowledge to internal support teams.
Implementation coordination:
Organization of interaction between the Automation Department, production, procurement, logistics, and external partners.
Control of project execution from concept approval to the stable operation of the solution in production.
Control of achieving target indicators after equipment startup.
Initiating improvements based on operation results and accumulated experience.
Direction development:
Formation of standards for implementing automation projects.
Development of a database of proven integrators and technology partners.
Organization of technical expertise transfer from contractors to internal engineering teams.
Our ideal candidate has: 5+ years of experience managing complex technical or production projects with a proven track record of delivery.
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and working with a large number of stakeholders.
Experience working with external contractors, suppliers, or system integrators.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in managing risks, budget, and project implementation timelines.
English Upper-Intermediate or higher.
Experience with tools: Jira / Confluence, Roadmaps, Gantt, Risk Management, Backlog Management, Project Planning.
Will be a plus: Experience in electronics manufacturing.
Experience launching new production lines.
Experience implementing new equipment.
Experience working with international contractors.
Experience working with Chinese manufacturers or system integrators.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement.
Experience with robotic systems, Machine Vision, or industrial automation.
Experience with FAT/SAT and commissioning equipment.
