For the "Microwave Instruments Subsystems" team in Immenstaad, we are looking for a Junior Development Engineer (m/f/d) specialized in the field of firmware and algorithms development for space-bound payloads.

Your responsibilities are:

• Development and verification of FPGA designs and building blocks for space-bound hardware or their test systems (EGSE) based on given requirements.
• Creation of the corresponding documentation such as, for example, data sheets, verification plans, and technical analyses.
• Hardware/Software Engineering and support of System Engineering in the selection of suitable architectures.
• Close cooperation with system engineers, Functional/Ops Engineering, hardware developers, software developers, and algorithm developers within the project team.
• Contribution to reviews of internal and external development projects.
• Execution of pre-developments in the field of FPGA, System-on-Chip, ADC, DAC, and comparable technologies.

Requirements:

• Master of Science or comparable in the field of electronics, communications engineering, or comparable.
• Experience in VHDL development and verification.
• Ability to break down given algorithms into processing steps based on specified system requirements and to analyze the resulting hardware requirements.
• Fundamentals of signal processing theory.
• Experience in the field of ECSS compliant FPGA development is an advantage.
• Practical experience in the field of HW/SW Engineering is an advantage.
• Very good English skills.
• German skills are an advantage.
