GNC Engineer for Early Warning (m/f) (M/F)
Job Description:
Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an Advanced Studies Engineer in Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) to join our Attitude and Orbit Control system (AOCS) / Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Advanced Studies department in Toulouse.
Early warning allows for the detection of a hostile missile launch as early as possible to protect areas identified as targets, such as populations or deployed forces. This position is therefore oriented towards early warning applications for the surveillance of ballistic and maneuvering missile launches.
As a GNC Engineer, you will contribute to the space component of the warning system by taking charge of simulation and space data processing activities. Integrated into a project team, you will work at the interface with several disciplines, notably for image processing, the implementation of complex simulators and operational tools, and system definition.

Your challenges: Analysis of needs and system requirements, Derivation into GNC requirements for the vehicle, its detection and state prediction, Define, design and implement GNC models for the vehicle, Define, design and implement algorithms for predicting vehicle states from space observables, Validate performance on functional simulators in connection with the system and other sub-systems (notably detection), Prepare the transfer to industrialization phases.
Within the department, you will also take charge of R&D activities for other GNC or AOCS technological building blocks.
Your profile: Background/knowledge in space and/or automatic control, Experience in a similar position in the fields of avionics or AOCS/GNC, Advanced control and filtering / signal processing techniques, Knowledge of missiles, AOCS/GNC system design, Matlab/Simulink, C/C++/Java for modeling and functional simulation, Innovative spirit, Analysis and synthesis skills, Good communication and ability to convince, Demonstrated initiative, proactivity, flexibility and seriousness, Commitment to high-quality technical work, Ability to work in a team Advanced level in English.
