As part of Airframe Analysis, we are a highly motivated stress team.

We are responsible for the entire structural analysis for the aircraft fuselage across all phases – from concept to certification and production start to final series production. With us, you combine classic engineering with new methods of digitalization and automation.

Your Location

You will work in the largest production site for civil aircraft in Hamburg. Due to its location on the southern bank of the Elbe, there is the possibility to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your free time, where a pulsating metropolis meets nautical heritage.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

• Review & Approval: You review and approve calculation documents according to the established processes, methods, and guidelines of Airbus.
• Certification & Approval: You create and validate technical proof documents to ensure the certification of aircraft and modifications (MODs).
• Technical Leadership & Interface: You drive technical innovations, develop optimized engineering solutions, and coordinate closely with design, manufacturing, and all relevant stakeholders.
• Expert Network: You interact confidently at eye level with high-level technical experts, such as Chief Skill Engineers, Technical Authorities, and Chief Engineers.
• Feasibility Studies: You conduct interdisciplinary trade studies to find the optimal balance between structural performance and efficient manufacturability.
• Actively shaping digitalization: You actively drive process improvement, automation, and the digital transformation of our tools and workflows.
• Team Spirit: You promote an open, collaborative way of working in the team and support your colleagues through technical exchange and mutual assistance.

Required Knowledge and Qualifications

• As a calculation engineer, you have a completed degree (Bachelor/Master), e.g., in the field of mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, civil engineering, or a comparable subject with a focus on calculation/structural analysis.
• You have sound professional experience in the structural analysis and design of fiber composite structures (CFK/Composite) – statics, preferably also in the area of fatigue and damage tolerance (F&Dt).
• You also have a holistic system understanding: You have demonstrable experience in the strength assessment of structural components that are optimized both in terms of weight and manufacturing processes.
• Know-how in _Materials & Processes_ for CFK/Composite as well as sound practical experience with global and detailed Finite Element Method (Global/Detailed FEM).
• Familiarity with common stress methods, _Airworthiness Requirements_, _Means of Compliance_, and certification principles of aviation.
• Routine use of established calculation tools in the aviation industry, especially ISAMI and HyperWorks, as well as programming skills (e.g., Python) are desirable.
• You are characterized by a structured, goal-oriented, and independent way of working.
• You have business fluent English skills. Good German skills are an advantage.
