SUPERVISORY SPACE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY SPACE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2211000 and is part of the CO 233D Space Group, National Guard. The purpose is to serve as a first level supervisor and provide advanced technical training and instruction for a space squadron.

Major duties

Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Establishes work schedules and daily duty assignments. Monitors and evaluates all section activities to include standards and evaluations, qualification training and tactic techniques, and procedures. Instructs weapon system optimization for space system employment and integration into Combat Air Force operations. Ensures combat readiness and deployability of space system operators. Evaluates unit compliance in gaining major command standards and directives. Certifies unit evaluators to standardize evaluation practices. Provides Trusted Agent support for HQ AFSPC, 14 AF and Air National Guard state level operational tests, exercises and development activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. 2. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. 3. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. 4. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. 5. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. 6. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Education

Substitution of Education for the Specialized Experience - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets 6 months Specialized Experience. Completion of courses such as the Officer Advanced Course, Squadron Officer School, Command and Staff College, Air and Army War College, National Security Management Course and others of comparable level will be credited at the rate of 1 month of education for two months of specialized experience.
