Major duties

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Architecture Development Division, ensuring that development of Enterprise Cyber Architecture functions and activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Serves as the AFSPC's focal point for cyberspace architecture development. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with AFSPC, 24AF, AFLCMC, SAF, and other stakeholders. Serves as an IT systems architecture technical expert and advisor involving procedural and policy guidance related to the identification, advocacy, evaluation, and implementation for communications and information systems, programs, and networks.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving AND have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes: Application of a wide range of Cyber Architecture principles, concepts, and methods; specializing in one or more areas such as systems administration, systems analysis, and enterprise architecture. Skill to apply methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to solve complex problems, provide support that minimizes interruptions in service to customers, and maintain liaison with industry and other activities to provide awareness to state-of-the-art technology. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the policies, principles, concepts, guidance, procedures, techniques, and methodologies pertaining to the broad, comprehensive knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and supervise, mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of subordinate organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy. Knowledge of scientific and technological advances in related fields of cyberspace and IT for program planning functions in addition to broad knowledge of the Air Force and DoD Communications and information systems technology. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
