MAINTENANCE WORKER
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 27 SOFSS. This position is regular part time. This is a drug testing position. Must be able to pass a physical.
Major duties
General Maintenance: Performs semi-skilled tasks in basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs (e.g., replacing switches, unclogging drains, patching drywall, and fixing door hardware). Equipment Upkeep: Services and makes minor repairs on facility gear, fitness machines, commercial mowers, or lodging appliances. Preventive Inspections: Conducts routine checks of building systems, indoor/outdoor fixtures, and recreational assets to identify safety hazards or repair needs. Record Keeping: Logs completed maintenance requests, reports major structural or mechanical failures to supervisors, and maintains a clean, safe workshop. To perform facility preventive maintenance and repairs as necessary, complete facility work orders, plan and complete minor construction, assist and recommend purchases of supplies and equipment, remove snow, and other ground functions. Complete documentation as necessary. Complete work orders or other work as assigned and document appropriately. Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must be able to follow oral or written instructions, and have excellent communication skills and be able to work without constant supervision and work alone. Must be able to lift and carry supplies, materials, and equipment up to 70 pounds. Requires a valid drivers license. Must possess a thorough knowledge of materials and equipment eligible to achieve job duties. Must have working knowledge of Services Squadron. Must be able to pass a physical.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
