SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Marketing office as a Regular, Part-time employee with benefits. This position has an uncommon TOD to include holidays and weekends.
Major duties
Duties and Responsabilities Under the direction of the Marketing Director, responsible for the overall management of the social media properties associated with the 75th Force Support Squadron (FSS). Manages FSS' social media profile(s) and presence. Keeps up-to-date on emergent trends, platforms, and overall changes to the social media landscape. Provides ongoing customer service through customer interactions. Updates, adds, revises content based on information provided to the Marketing Office or approved input from leadership and managers on a daily basis. Position requires writing, editing, and designing content for publishing. Assists co-workers with projects/tasks, creating/distributing a variety of marketing materials across various platforms in project management software. Proofs marketing output prior to advertising. Works with Marketing Director to ensure social media content meets squadron and mission objectives, properly reflecting Air Force standards. Uses a variety of social/digital media platforms, applications, techniques, digital equipment, plugins, apps, and tools to effectively manage digital assets. Continuously explores, recommends, uses, and optimizes communication methods and technologies to engage with customers, and to maximize the squadron's branding, products and services; identifies relevant new strategies/technologies/industry trends; creates and boosts customers' engagements, brand exposure and applies them into operations and activities. Assists Marketing Director in developing communication strategies to determine the most effective and efficient method of reaching the target market with incentives/giveaways. Assists in marketing surveys, collecting data, tabulating responses, and analyzing results effectively. Moderates community interaction with content; responds in a timely manner; escalates when appropriate. Analyzes social media presence and performance. Prepares various reports on key social media analytics. Helps assist in updating content on HillFSS.com. Must be flexible and attend FSS events on weekends, programs and meetings to provide workflow updates. Utilize AI technologies and services with proper approval processes. Has working knowledge of AI platforms such as Grok, ChatGPT and Gemini and bots within AI platforms. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Professional experience in digital marketing, through marketing and tech display. Working knowledge of social media marketing campaigns and processes. High-level customer service. Knowledge of fundamental marketing communication and ability to understand marketing strategies, concepts, and campaign objectives. Knowledge of a wide range of visual communication, layout principles, conception ideas, and planning a variety of projects. Working knowledge of on line media platforms such as: Wordpress, social media platforms and Microsoft Office for communications and reports is a must. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Conditions of Employment: Successful completion and favorable adjudication or applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. Must possess a valid driver's license if required to operate a Government Motor Vehicle (GMV). This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
