The primary purpose of this position is to Serves as the JWAC Technical Director and senior technical authority, providing expert direction and strategic guidance for all technical activities that support the JWAC mission.

Major duties

  • Establishes the technical vision and framework for center-level policies, programs, and systems to advance JWAC's strategic objectives.
  • Serves as a primary technical advisor to the Director and represents JWAC's technical equities with higher headquarters, industry partners, and other external organizations.
  • Orchestrates major research, development, and evaluation programs to build and sustain critical internal capabilities.
  • Ensures the technical integrity, quality, and accuracy of all major mission-related tasks and deliverables across the organization.
  • Bridges business development, growth and strategy, engineering, and execution to sustain delivery excellence and year-over-year expansion.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: This is an interdisciplinary position, which means that the duties and responsibilities of the position relate to the General Engineer (0801), Computer Scientist (1550), and Operations Research Analyst (1515) fields. All applicants must meet the education and experience requirements of at least one of the series AND the specialized experience requirement in order to qualify. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above for at least one series, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade DR-03 (GS-14), or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience providing expert direction and strategic guidance for technical activities, establishing technical vision and framework for policies, programs, and systems, orchestrating major research, development, and evaluation programs, ensuring technical integrity, quality, and accuracy of all major mission-related tasks and deliverables.   • Builds collaborative relationships across broad functional and technical areas and engages with leaders at the national and/or international level.
  • Promotes a culture of excellence in synthesizing and documenting diverse and highly complex information, concepts, and ideas.
  • Integrates and synchronizes wide-ranging activities across the command and with external partners involving multiple technical areas executing delivery excellence and continuous organizational expansion.
  • Formulates short-term and long-term teaming/collaboration strategies across the organization and subordinate units to achieve significant results in support of the organization's goals and long-term vision.
  • Directs the strategic alignment of technical objectives with broader center goals, serving as the ultimate authority and trusted technical advisor to JWAC Director, executive partners, and external coordinating officials.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
