Engineer Level 2

Your tasks

The Engineer Level 2 will be responsible for leading and executing VSAT and satellite communication system deployments across the UAE. You will manage the full project lifecycle from site surveys and commissioning to testing, troubleshooting, and handover, ensuring high standards of technical performance and customer satisfaction.

• Plan and conduct VSAT and satellite communication site surveys, RF link budgeting, and frequency planning.
• Lead the installation, commissioning, and testing of VSAT earth stations and associated network equipment.
• Perform system performance verification, acceptance testing, and troubleshooting to resolve RF and network issues.
• Coordinate deployment activities with clients, vendors, and project teams to meet project schedules and deliverables.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, installation reports, and handover packages.
• Provide on-site technical support and training to junior engineers and field technicians.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards during all phases of deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system design and performance.
• Monitor and maintain deployed systems, applying firmware updates and patches as needed.

Requirements

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in VSAT system deployment, commissioning, testing, and maintenance.
• Proven expertise in satellite communication link budgeting, RF propagation, and signal optimization.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for RF and network-related faults in satellite systems.
• Experience with configuration and operation of satellite modems, routers, and network management tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team in the UAE.
• Legal authorization to work in the UAE.

Preferred qualifications

• Professional certifications such as SCTE, CCNA Satellite, or equivalent.
• Experience in maritime or defense satellite communication projects.
• Familiarity with UAE telecommunications regulations and licensing procedures.
• Arabic language proficiency.
• Experience with remote monitoring and management platforms for satellite networks.
