Application Support Engineer

Your tasks

We are seeking an application support engineer to join our Dubai team. In this role, you will provide technical and non-technical support for our web and mobile applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and user satisfaction. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, maintain system health, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Monitor and maintain health and performance of web and mobile applications
• Respond to, investigate, and resolve support tickets within defined SLAs
• Troubleshoot issues related to SQL databases and IIS-hosted applications
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to identify root causes and implement fixes
• Deploy application updates, patches, and hotfixes in production and test environments
• Document support processes, known issues, and resolution steps
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
• Communicate status and incident details to stakeholders and end users

Requirements

Required qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in application support or related IT role
• Strong knowledge of web application architectures and troubleshooting
• Experience supporting mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms
• Proficient in SQL, including writing queries and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft IIS configuration and troubleshooting
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with IT support processes and ticketing systems

Preferred qualifications

• ITIL foundation certification or equivalent support framework knowledge
• Microsoft certified: Azure administrator or MCSE certifications
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and related services
• Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash) for automation
• Familiarity with application monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, AppDynamics)
• Experience with containerization (Docker) or CI/CD pipelines
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic
