Senior Development Metallurgist

As a Senior Development Metallurgist, you will lead a development program related to recovery, metallurgical performance, and production value yield, and prioritize recovery projects as part of the concentrator's development portfolio.

In your role

• You will lead and coordinate projects aimed at developing the concentrator's recovery, performance, and value yield from idea to implementation.
• You will utilize process data, metallurgical tests, and pilot operations in identifying and prioritizing development targets.

• You are responsible for the design of metallurgical studies and test programs, as well as the evaluation of results in cooperation with the laboratory, production, and external partners.
• You will participate in the commissioning of new processes and equipment, as well as supporting production after commissioning.

• You will work closely with production, maintenance, automation, the environmental department, and the project organization to achieve common goals.

Success in this role requires the ability to lead development projects and influence results through collaboration, technical expertise, and prioritization.

The work is day work and primarily requires presence at the mine. The employment is permanent.

We expect from you

• Experience from a concentrator or similar environment in metallurgical testing, process data analysis, monitoring production performance, and implementing projects related to process development and recovery optimization
• Previous experience in leading technical studies and projects from the feasibility stage through to implementation

• A university degree in a relevant field, e.g., metallurgy, chemical engineering, or process engineering
• Fluent English skills

• An interest in utilizing data and continuous process development
• The ability to put development ideas into practice in cooperation with different functions

• Experience in commissioning, testing, or pilot runs conducted in a production environment
• Skills in project work and stakeholder cooperation

• Fluent Finnish skills or strong motivation to learn the language
