Agilis Search is partnering exclusively with a leading business in Ipswich who are recruiting for a Senior IT Engineer to join an established IT team, supporting and improving a predominantly Microsoft-based environment.

You'll be joining an established team where your technical knowledge, ideas and ability to take ownership will be valued.

Your tasks

This is a varied, hands-on position combining 2nd/3rd line technical support, infrastructure management, cyber security and project delivery. You'll be a key technical contact within the team, helping to resolve complex issues, improve systems and deliver new technology.

It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting involved in the technical detail but also wants the responsibility of leading projects, working with external suppliers and influencing how IT services are delivered.

• Providing senior-level technical support and resolving complex infrastructure and system issues.
• Supporting and managing Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
• Taking the technical lead on infrastructure and security projects, from initial requirements through to implementation.
• Working with external IT providers, reviewing technical solutions and ensuring services meet business needs.
• Supporting cyber security activities, including vulnerability management, security monitoring and remediation.
• Troubleshooting networking, connectivity and infrastructure issues.
• Identifying opportunities to improve system performance, reliability and security.
• Providing technical guidance to colleagues and helping develop the wider team's knowledge.

Alongside day-to-day infrastructure responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in upcoming technology and security projects, including improvements to security monitoring, network protection and core IT services.

Requirements

Are you an experienced IT Engineer looking for a role where you can take greater ownership of infrastructure, security and technical projects?

Ideal Experience

• Strong 2nd/3rd line support or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Good knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• A solid understanding of networking and infrastructure security.
• Experience with cyber security tools, vulnerability management or security monitoring.
• The ability to investigate complex technical problems and identify long-term solutions.
• Experience working with external IT suppliers and technical partners.
• Confidence in planning, coordinating and delivering technical improvements or projects.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical matters clearly.
