Senior Embedded Software Engineer

We are looking for a senior embedded developer who wants to drive the development of robust ECU platforms close to hardware, MCU, and real-time systems.

Here, you will take a central technical role in the development of the next generation software platform for control systems in demanding machine environments. You will work hands-on close to the hardware and influence architecture, integration, and long-term robustness in the platform.

About the role

• Senior technical role within low-level development for ECU platforms.
• Work through the entire embedded stack, from MCU startup to application interfaces.
• Contribute to robust solutions with high requirements for real-time, safety, and reliability.
• Switch between architecture, analysis, and practical implementation.

What you will do

• Design and develop boot software, drivers, HAL/BSP, and RTOS integration.
• Drive migration and porting between MCU, RTOS, and platform environments.
• Analyze real-time characteristics, scheduling, interrupts, CPU load, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot complex problems between application, platform, toolchain, and hardware.
• Verify on target platform with debug and measurement tools.

We are looking for you who have

• Solid experience in low-level development and ECU platforms.
• Deep understanding of microcontrollers, memory architecture, interrupts, and peripherals.
• Very good knowledge of C and C++ for resource-constrained real-time systems.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M or comparable 32-bit MCUs.
• Practical experience with RTOS or bare-metal as well as hardware-near troubleshooting.

Technology & Tools

• C, C++, and Python for development, testing, and automation.
• ARM Cortex-M, RTOS, bootloaders, and firmware updates.
• JTAG/SWD, trace tools, oscilloscope, and logic analyzer.
• CAN/CAN FD, UDS, and ECU mechanisms for software updates.
• Meritorious with IEC 62443, ISO 26262, or other safety-critical standards.
