Exterior/Interior Studio Engineer

Do you want to work at the interface between vehicle design and engineering? In the role of Exterior/Interior Studio Engineer, you will become an important link between the design studio and the development organization within an international vehicle player.

About the role

• Represent design intentions in technical development matters.
• Work with both interior and exterior within the entire vehicle context.
• Contribute to feasible solutions in aesthetically sensitive areas.
• Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and other cross-functional teams.

What you will do

• Translate technical, regulatory, and validation-related requirements into design constraints.
• Investigate feasibility and critical technical issues early on.
• Develop and document agreements between design and engineering.
• Support the construction of clay models, including stand heights, wheel positions, and seating positions.
• Contribute technical solutions that drive development in line with the design direction.

We are looking for you who have

• University education in a relevant technical field or equivalent competence.
• At least ten years of experience from the automotive industry.
• A good holistic understanding of vehicle development, both interior and exterior.
• Experience in concept and component development within aesthetically sensitive areas.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, tooling requirements, lead times, as well as validation of vehicle components and systems.

Technology & Tools

• CATIA V5 for solid and surface modeling.
• Teamcenter at author level.
• Jira for planning and follow-up.
• MS Office for documentation and collaboration.

Practical information

• Location: Göteborg, Sweden.
• Working method: On-site work in studio.
• Language: English required. Mandarin is a merit.
