Embedded Software Engineer – ECU-platform

Develop the next generation software platform for ECUs in an advanced real-time environment, close to both microcontrollers and hardware.

Do you want to work close to the hardware and develop robust software for advanced control systems? In this role, you will become a central part of an experienced team building the next generation software platform for machine ECUs.

About the role

• Develop low-level software for ECU platforms in a real-time critical environment.
• Work closely with microcontrollers, hardware, and peripheral interfaces.
• Contribute through the entire chain from architecture to verification.

What you will do

• Develop and integrate drivers, boot software, and hardware abstraction.
• Implement and verify software for RTOS and bare-metal environments.
• Troubleshoot complex problems in the interaction between software and hardware.
• Perform practical troubleshooting on target hardware using debug probes and measurement equipment.
• Contribute to the platform's architecture, implementation, and integration.

We are looking for you who have

• Several years of experience in low-level development for embedded systems.
• Good knowledge of microcontrollers, memory, interrupts, and peripheral interfaces.
• Experience with bootloaders, startup code, as well as hardware and memory initialization.
• Strong knowledge of C++ as well as Python for scripting, automation, and testing.
• Meritorious experience from the automotive industry or other safety-critical systems.

Technology & Tools

• C++, Python, RTOS, and bare-metal.
• MCUs, preferably ARM-based platforms.
• Bootloaders, drivers, and hardware abstraction.
• CAN/CAN FD, diagnostics, and functional safety.
• Debug probes, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and CI/CD environments.
