Job Description

Do you want to help ensure that the vehicles of the future function as they should, all the way from development to a verified solution?

At AFRY, we believe that the best solutions are created when people with different perspectives, experiences, and ideas are given the opportunity to grow together. We are now looking for Vehicle Integration & Fault Tracing Engineers who want to combine technical depth, problem-solving, and practical vehicle work in a role where you can make a real difference.

Here, you will become part of a cohesive team working with some of the most advanced development and test vehicles in the automotive industry. Together, you will be responsible for ensuring that the vehicles are updated, available, and ready for the next step in development.

About the role

As a Vehicle Integration & Fault Tracing Engineer, you will work closely with both vehicles, systems, and people. You will become an important part of a long-term assignment where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement are in focus.

You will have the opportunity to follow technical challenges from the first symptom to a verified solution and work at the interface between software, electronics, and hardware. The role involves close collaboration with specialists in several technical areas and gives you a great opportunity to contribute your own ideas and suggestions for improvement.

The work is performed at development, production, and test facilities in the Gothenburg area.

Your main responsibilities

  • Integrate, configure, and update software in complete vehicles
  • Troubleshoot software, electronics, and communication between control units
  • Perform root cause analyses and verify implemented solutions
  • Ensure high availability of development and test vehicles
  • Document technical status and collaborate with relevant development and test teams
  • Contribute to the development of working methods, processes, and quality within the team

Qualifications

We believe you have

  • A technical education in, for example, electronics, mechatronics, vehicle technology, or computer engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in vehicle integration, diagnostics, or technical troubleshooting
  • A good understanding of embedded systems and the interaction between software, electronics, and hardware
  • Experience with CAN communication and diagnostic tools
  • Good proficiency in English, both spoken and written
  • B-driver's license

Meritorious

  • Experience with heavy vehicles or complex vehicle platforms
  • Configuration of control units
  • CANalyzer or CANoe
  • Diagnostic protocols and fault code management
  • Test and verification work

Who are you? We believe you are a person who appreciates understanding how things are connected and is driven to find solutions even when the path is not obvious. You are curious, structured, and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others.

To thrive in the role, we see that you enjoy collaborating, building trust, and taking collective responsibility for the result. You thrive both with practical work on the vehicles and with the analytical part where you get to delve into technical issues.
