Job Description
We are looking for a meticulous and innovative mechanical engineer for our product development team in Luleå. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical components and systems that drive our product innovation forward. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform concepts into market-ready solutions, while maintaining the highest possible standards for quality and efficiency.
Design and develop mechanical components and devices using CAD software, while ensuring that technical specifications and industry standards are followed Perform technical analyses and simulations (FEA, stress analysis, thermal modeling) to validate designs and optimize performance Collaborate with product managers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product development and successful implementation Analyze and solve complex technical problems through systematic troubleshooting and innovative approaches Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and technical reports Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve product quality and manufacturability Evaluate manufacturing processes and material selection to balance performance, cost, and production efficiency Support prototype development, testing, and validation throughout the product lifecycle Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization within the development team
Qualifications
Requirements for competence and experience:
Good knowledge of mechanical CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or equivalent) Solid knowledge of the product development cycle and principles of technical design Experience with technical analysis tools and simulation software (FEA, CFD, or similar) Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, materials science, and material selection Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail Experience working in cross-functional teams Good written and oral communication skills in English Documented ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively
Desirable skills and experience:
Experience with agile or iterative product development methods Knowledge of quality assurance, testing protocols, and validation procedures Familiarity with industry standards and legal requirements relevant to mechanical design Experience with 3D printing, rapid prototyping, or advanced manufacturing techniques Background in manufacturing, automotive industry, industrial equipment, or similar technical environments Experience with project management tools and platforms for collaborative design Knowledge of cost analysis and principles of design for manufacturability
